Koubri: A city consisting of 80 housing units and basic social infrastructure was inaugurated Sunday in Koubri, the result of cooperation between Burkina Faso and the United Arab Emirates, for the benefit of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable populations. Named Kawal Al Qaz, the complex covers 5 hectares in the village of Namb©, a rural commune of Koubri.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the development includes 80 fully equipped F3 housing units, a nine-classroom school, a dispensary, a mosque, a community bakery, two boreholes, and four shops. This achievement is supported by the Association for Humanitarian Benevolence (ABH) with the financial backing of the Dubai Charity Association.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Ministers Mikala Sidib© (Urban Planning and Housing), €š¬°mile Zerbo (Territorial Administration), and Commander Oumarou Yabr©. The president of the Koubri special delegation, Samad© L©onard Gougou, welcomed the project, praising its high social value and urging beneficiaries to make good use of the infrastructure.
Mohamed Al Mubarak, the representative of the Dubai Charity Association, emphasized the humanitarian scope of the initiative, aimed at providing relief to families struggling to access decent housing. Minister of Urban Planning and Housing, Mikala Sidib©, commended the project as an exemplary action that strengthens the supply of social housing and showcases active international solidarity with Burkina Faso.
The ceremony concluded with a symbolic handover of the keys, the signing of the guestbook, and a tour of the facilities.
