Burkina Faso Embassy Successfully Organizes Patriotic Mobilization in Ghana

Accra: The Embassy of Burkina Faso to the Republic of Ghana successfully organized the second edition of the Patriotic and Cultural Mobilization Days (JMPC) at the El Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on July 5 and 6, 2025. The event celebrated patriotism, culture, and community spirit among Burkinabe and friends of Burkina living in Ghana.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony on July 5 was attended by notable figures from Ghana and Burkina Faso, including the Minister of State for Agriculture, Isma«l Sombi©, and Mr. Moussa Koanda, who served as the sponsor. The theme for this year's event was "Patriotic Mobilization of the Burkinabe Diaspora in Ghana: A Commitment to the Rebuilding of the Motherland," aligning with the vision of Burkina Faso's President, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, to strengthen ties with the diaspora.

Romuald Sawadogo, President of the High Council of Burkinabe of Ghana, expressed gratitude to the authorities and partners, particularly thanking Minister Isma«l Sombi© and Mr. Moussa Koanda. The event featured a range of activities, including sports, cultural exhibitions, and culinary experiences, showcasing the rich heritage of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.

Ambassador David Kabr© and guests explored the art and culinary exhibition stands, emphasizing the unity and brotherhood among the peoples of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) region. A football match saw the K´ community triumph over the Yarga community with a score of 2-1.

The event culminated in a grand cultural evening with performances by musicians and designers from Ghana and Burkina Faso, highlighted by an auction of the bronze statue of the Yennenga Stallion. The auction raised 1,500,000 CFA francs for the Patriotic Support Fund, with Mr. Saidu Mady Ou©draogo, a young entrepreneur, lauding the community's solidarity.

Minister of Urban Planning and Housing, Mikailou Sidib©, praised the artistic level of the evening and encouraged even greater success for future editions. The embassy is already planning the next stage in Koumassi in September 2025, aiming to extend the event to other major cities in Ghana. The first edition in 2024 successfully raised nearly 24 million FCFA for the Patriotic Support Fund.
