Ouagadougou: Members of the Association of Women National Police Officers participated in a crucial training session focused on capacity building to combat fraud, organized by the National Anti-Fraud Coordination.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aims to tackle the financing of terrorism, which is often supported by tax fraud, prohibited products, and fuel trafficking. Natacha Zoungrana, president of the Association of Female National Police Officers, emphasized the urgent need for this training due to the threat these activities pose to national peace and stability. She underscored the vital role female police officers play in daily operations to curb these practices.
Ms. Zoungrana highlighted that the association's members from eleven regions attended the training to enhance their skills in combating fraud. This effort aligns with broader strategies to weaken terrorism by cutting off its funding sources. The association sought this training to actively contribute to the national anti-fraud efforts.
Dr. Yves Kafando, national coordinator for the fight against fraud and patron of the opening ceremony, reiterated the importance of this issue across various professions. He stated that equipping female officers with knowledge about fraud and its manifestations would enable them to act as ambassadors in their operations, facilitating effective communication with the coordination when suspicious activities arise.
The training represents a collaborative effort between the female police officers' association and the national anti-fraud coordination, marking a significant step towards strengthening national security efforts.
