Burkina Faso Launches Public Conference to Promote Patriotism and Civic-Mindedness

Ouagadougou: The official launch ceremony of the Public Conference on Patriotic Commitment, Citizenship, Culture, Peace, and Social Cohesion was held at the SIAO Rising Sun Pavilion. This event aims to promote civic-mindedness and patriotism as essential components of peace and social cohesion in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference, organized by the Presidential Initiative for Community Development in collaboration with the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina Faso (BN-GPB), seeks to enhance the capacity of communities across the country. The event is under the patronage of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, represented by Captain C©leste Anderson Medah, Director of Cabinet.

President Traor© emphasized the importance of education in promoting the values of patriotism, civic-mindedness, and peace, particularly during the ongoing fight against terrorism and imperialism. He praised the efforts of the organizers and highlighted the government's vision of fostering modern citizenship grounded in patriotism, integrity, civic-mindedness, and solidarity.

Addressing the challenges of security and cohesion, the President called for building a resilient nation through patriotic commitment and the traditional values of peace, unity, and social cohesion characteristic of the Burkinabe people. He encouraged participants to prepare the youth to embrace and internalize these values in daily life.

The conference in Ouagadougou concentrated on themes such as civics and citizenship, patriotism and citizen participation, and fostering a culture of peace and social cohesion. The series of conferences will continue throughout September, concluding with a closing ceremony in Bobo Dioulasso.
