Burkina Faso mobilizes around 1,400 billion FCFA in revenue in the first half of the year out of 1,700 billion expected

Ouagadougou: In the first half of 2024, Burkina Faso mobilized approximately 1,400 billion FCFA in budget revenue, representing an execution rate of 82.35% compared to mid-term details and 44.48% compared to annual forecasts.This represents an execution rate of 44.48%, against 1,700 billion FCFA in expenditure, or an execution rate of 46%, according to the minutes of the Council of Ministers of this Wednesday."As of June 30, the State budget for the 2024 financial year was executed at a level of 1,398.64 billion FCFA in revenue and 1,731.00 billion FCFA in expenditure for respective annual forecasts of 3,144.12 billion FCFA and 3,694.59 billion FCFA," details the minutes of the Council of Ministers.The Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fatoumata Bako/Traoré, added that the disbursements made under the treasury amount to approximately 1,834 billion FCFA, compared to 1,831 billion FCFA for receipts."Overall, it appears that the mobilization of resources is below (half-yearly) forecasts. This is partly explained by the difficulties encountered by the agencies, particularly at the level of the General Directorate of Taxes.
