Burkina: “Homeland or Death, we will win” will return as the country’s motto, (government)

Ouagadougou: The government decided on Wednesday in the Council of Ministers to return Burkina Faso to its old motto which is “Homeland or Death, we will conquer”, instead of “Unity, Progress and Justice ".According to the report of the council of ministers, the government wants to modify paragraph 4 of article 34 of the 1991 constitution to henceforth establish “Homeland or Death, we will conquer” as the motto of Burkina Faso.The same source maintains that this change aims to strengthen patriotic feeling on the one hand, and on the other hand to revive the flame of civic commitment, a flame which lights the march of the people towards the horizon of happiness.Burkina Faso Information AgencyThe preliminary draft constitutional law revising the Constitution was adopted by the Council of Ministers.Source: Burkina Information Agency
