Burkina/Koubri: ‘Carr’Opps’ Project Empowers Youth for Job Creation

Koubri: The "Carrefour des besoins" project, commonly known as "Carr'Opps", conducted an informative and action-oriented camp along with an ideathon on July 3 and 4, 2025, in Koubri, focusing on enhancing the capabilities of young people in job creation and socio-economic integration.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was spearheaded by the NGO Tanager in partnership with WAKATLAB, AUXFIN BF, Biblioth¨que Sans Fronti¨re, the Provincial Youth Directorate, and the special delegation of the commune of Koubri. The project is designed to provide innovative solutions to the challenges associated with youth employment.

The event commenced with an opening ceremony led by the Secretary General of the town hall, Mahamadou Nonkouni, who represented the President of the special delegation. Nonkouni applauded the dedication of the partners and urged local stakeholders to engage actively in the project's success.

Over the course of two days, the participants delved into discussions on local opportunities, ongoing challenges, governance models, and mechanisms for youth engagement. The ideathon, which was the main feature of the event, enabled the young attendees to come up with innovative solutions for managing intersections of opportunity.

Concluding the intensive session, the participants shared their satisfaction and pledged to utilize the skills they acquired to aid in local development.
