Ouagadougou: The Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT) of Burkina Faso held a plenary session on Wednesday, during which it successfully renewed the members of its office. The session, presided over by Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, saw 71 ALT deputies casting their votes through a secret ballot to elect new leaders for the parliamentary institution.According to Burkina Information Agency, the voting process concluded with the election of deputy Dafidi David Lompo as the 1st vice-president of the ALT. Additionally, deputies Haoua Fofana, Hermann Yelkouni, and Daouda Diallo were elected as the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th vice-presidents, respectively. Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, the President of the Assembly, expressed his appreciation for the orderly conduct of the election and extended his best wishes to the newly elected office members for a successful term.The assembly's decision follows Article 91 of the Burkinabe Constitution, which mandates that the members of the parliamentary office be elected for a one-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
