Burkina: Refrigeration Professionals Respond to the Patriotic Call of the President of Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou: The Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Professionals (APFC) announced on Wednesday the celebration of World Refrigeration Day, scheduled for June 26, 2025. Under the theme: "I am a refrigeration engineer, I am committed to order and discipline for my homeland," the 7th edition includes a range of activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, World Refrigeration Day is an international awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness of the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump sector, and highlighting the essential role of this sector and its technologies in modern life and society, said Luc Yoda, president of the organizing committee. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness about air conditioning and refrigeration for the population.

Mr. Yoda spoke this Wednesday in Ouagadougou, during a press conference announcing the colors of the 7th edition of World Refrigeration Day, organized by the APFC. The chosen theme, "I am a refrigeration engineer, I commit myself to order and discipline for my homeland," responds to the call for patriotism launched by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, during the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation on March 26.

The program for this edition includes visits and recognitions in honor of the oldest refrigeration engineers, a popular cross-country race planned for next Saturday at the National Heroes Monument, as well as a donation to the presidential initiative FASO MEEBO.

"The APFC actively participates in consultations between the government and the private sector, and works to make the refrigeration sector more competitive, responsible, and innovative. The association's members have succeeded in making Ouagadougou the refrigeration capital of Africa through the organization of the Ouagadougou International Climate and Refrigeration Exhibition," emphasized €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬°lie Ou©draogo, president of the association.

Princess Julie Kongo, ambassador of refrigeration in Africa, called on the government to be more committed to popularizing refrigeration professions. She stated that refrigeration is a necessity and encouraged women to enter the field.

Founded in 2019, the APFC now brings together nearly 1,000 refrigeration technicians and other industry players. Since then, its members have been working to provide better services and advice to populations in the acquisition and maintenance of their refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
