Burkina/SIAO 2024: Parkers welcome the security deployed on the site which facilitates their activities

Parkeurs attending the 17th edition of the Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair (SIAO) welcomed, on Monday, the deployment of law enforcement on the site to ensure the safety of festival-goers, which also facilitates their activities.The parkers of the 2024 edition of the Ouagadougou International Crafts Fair (SIAO) expressed, this Monday, October 28, 2024, their satisfaction with the deployment of law enforcement to ensure the safety of festival-goers and visitors.For them, this strong presence of security elements facilitates their parking activities, because, according to them, the bandits can no longer walk around the perimeter.Parkeur Ismaël Kabré, a resident of the Yamtenga district of Ouagadougou, said that the market is currently timid four days after the opening of the 17th edition of the African Crafts Biennale.According to him, he collects about 15,000 FCFA at the end of his day. His colleague Adama Tapsoba, working in the same area, claims to pocket the sum of nearly 20,000 FCFA per day .As for Adama Congo, another parkeur residing in Ragnongo, he says he is proud of the effective holding of the SIAO.He also explained that the organization of the event demonstrates the resilience of the Burkinabe people, despite the security and humanitarian context of the country.According to the Congo parker, his income amounts to approximately 50,000 FCFA per day.Customers Salam Kaboré and David Ouédraogo expressed their gratitude to the parkers, who ensure the safety of their vehicles on the SIAO site.According to them, they paid the sum of 200 FCFA to be able to park their bikes in the car parks.The parkers also paid tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), who fight daily, at the risk of their lives, against terrorism.They also congratulated the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, for his commitment to the reconquest of the integrity of the national territory.Source: Burkina Information Agency
