Burkina: The government adopts a quota on the importation of similar products manufactured or produced

Ouagadougou: The government adopted on Wednesday a quota for the removal of imports of similar products manufactured or produced in Burkina Faso with a view to strengthening national sovereignty in terms of production, processing and availability of products, and constitutes clear support for the industry at the national level.The government "has adopted a decree establishing quotas for the removal of imports of similar products manufactured or produced at national level," indicates the minutes of the Council of Ministers of this Wednesday.The Minister in charge of industry, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, added that the adoption of this decree is part of the vision of the President of Faso, who wants national production and the industrial transformation of national raw materials to be priorities.According to Mr. Poda, this decree strengthens national sovereignty in terms of production, processing and availability of products, and constitutes clear support for the industry at the national level."Through the ado ption of this decree which establishes quotas for imported products, which are also manufactured nationally, it is a question of establishing a framework of significant support for national production through the establishment of outlets for products manufactured nationally," he specified.Source: Burkina Information Agency
