Burkinabe Government Announces 80 Billion FCFA Investment for Bobo-Dioulasso Airport Revitalization.

Bobo-Dioulasso: The Burkinabe government, in collaboration with its partners, has unveiled plans to invest 80 billion FCFA in the revitalization of the Bobo-Dioulasso International Airport. This ambitious project includes the construction of a new terminal designed to accommodate at least 1.5 million passengers annually, alongside the rehabilitation of the runway, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas.According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Mobility spearheads this initiative, aiming to equip air transport operators with modern and innovative infrastructure and services. The project seeks to enhance passenger and freight air transport activities while also boosting related sectors such as hotel, tourism, agro-sylvo-pastoral, and trade services at the airport.The Council of Ministers has highlighted that the completion of these works will unlock the potential of the Bobo-Dioulasso airport, positioning it as a key hub in the region. The funding for this project is sourced from the state budget and contributions from both technical and financial partners, as confirmed by the government.
