Commander Arnauld Ouedraogo Honors Fallen Heroes with Support for Wards of the Nation

Ouagadougou: The Director General of the National Office for the Security of Mining Sites, Commander Wendbousida Arnauld Ouedraogo, emphasized the importance of honoring the memory of fallen heroes by supporting their children, referred to as the wards of the nation. This statement was made during a ceremony where a check for 15 million FCFA was presented to the Agency for Support to Widows, Orphans and Victims of War (ASVOVIG) to benefit 50 wards of the nation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place in Ouagadougou, where Commander Ouedraogo highlighted the significance of supporting these children, whose parents - soldiers, gendarmes, police officers, and security agents - lost their lives in the line of duty. He emphasized that by aiding these fifty pupils during their back-to-school period, the nation reaffirms its belief in their potential and its commitment to building a stronger and more united Burkina Faso.

Commander Ouedraogo expressed that the children, respectfully known as wards of the nation, carry not only a painful legacy but also the promise of a future that the nation is obligated to protect and nurture. He stated that contributing to their development is an extension of the moral commitment the state has to those who sacrificed their lives for the country. Through this donation, the aim is to provide the means for these children to continue their education without obstacles, allowing them to dream freely and grow with dignity.

The Director General of the Agency for Support to Widows, Orphans and Victims of War (ASVOVIG), Colonel Lamine Ouedraogo, conveyed his gratitude for this significant gesture of solidarity towards the orphans. He stressed the importance of mobilizing support during the back-to-school period, especially for families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Colonel Lamine Ouedraogo assured that efforts will be made to ensure these children have the opportunity to study in peace and grow into capable individuals who can contribute to building the country. As a token of appreciation, he presented a thank you board to Commander Ouedraogo, acknowledging the support from ONASSIM.
