Banfora: The Municipality of Banfora received equipment for the Department of Land Affairs on Friday, July 11, 2025. This donation was an initiative of the TENFOREST association with the aim of improving the working conditions of the said department.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the leaders of the TENFOREST association deemed it necessary to offer this equipment through the Project for securing collective land rights for women in rural areas (PDFCOF), aiming to enhance the working conditions and efficiency of the Land Affairs Department in the Commune of Banfora. The donation includes a laptop, a printer, two motorcycles, and a GPS.
Yakouba Barro, President of the special delegation of the Commune of Banfora, expressed gratitude towards TENFOREST, recognizing it as a privileged partner of the Commune of Banfora. He assured TENFOREST officials that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the equipment's proper care, particularly for securing land for women, thereby strengthening the capacity of the municipality's land affairs department.
The PDS also conveyed appreciation to the TENFOREST association for its support. Alain Traor©, President of TENFOREST, mentioned that the municipality of Banfora received the most equipment in terms of cost, based on its expressed needs. He highlighted that TENFOREST is conducting a project to secure collective land rights for women in rural areas of Burkina Faso.
Alain Traor© emphasized their confidence in the Banfora town hall for proper use of the equipment, given the reassurances from the PDS. He affirmed that close monitoring would be ensured, as activities related to securing collective land rights for women need to be accelerated to obtain certificates of rural land ownership for these women within three months.
