Sapouy: Inputs valued at nearly 8 million CFA francs have been provided to 100 internally displaced households in Bakata and Sapouy. The consortium, which includes ODE, ADS-Burkina, and financial partner Woord en Daad, delivered the donation through the FAIRMAIZE project on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, consisting of sorghum and cowpea seeds, fertilizers, and sprayers, is intended to bolster the resilience of displaced households during the current growing season. Daniel Ou©draogo, the coordinator of the FAIRMAIZE consortium, emphasized the importance of the beneficiaries utilizing these inputs effectively to achieve good yields and reduce dependency.
The consortium representatives expressed their commitment to empowering internally displaced persons (IDPs) through tangible and sustainable support. Adams Davou, representing the High Commissioner of Ziro, praised the initiative and expressed gratitude towards the partners for assisting the vulnerable population, especially during the challenging winter season.
‚¬Å¡¬°douard Niki¨ma, head of the Humanitarian Action department at the Provincial Directorate of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity of Ziro, outlined the distribution process, stating that each household will receive a 50 kg bag of NPK fertilizer and seeds, proportionate to the available quantity.
