Dissin: Parents and teachers at the Mou-Don©teon primary school in the commune of Dissin have initiated a campaign to construct a new classroom using sustainable materials. This appeal aims to replace an existing straw hut classroom that has become unusable.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the community has sent a letter dated June 18, 2025, to local authorities, including the president of the special delegation of Dissin, the head of the Basic Education District of Dissin, and the Gnowtaar association of Mou. The letter seeks support from village residents to construct a concrete block classroom and a latrine, with an estimated total cost of 3.5 million FCFA.
The parents and teachers, with backing from the village chief and the Village Development Committee, expressed concern that the deteriorated classroom has adversely affected learning conditions and limited student access to education. The recruitment of CP1 students was halted last year, and there is a possibility of a recurrence in the 2025-2026 school year, as noted by a concerned parent.
The Mou-Don©teon school, which opened in 2010 in a remote area, hopes this collective effort will result in an improved educational environment for local children.
