Djibo: The city of Djibo, in the Sahel region, is gradually regaining its connection with the outside world. After the highly anticipated return of the Moov Africa mobile phone network, which had been out for nearly four years, RTB radio is now broadcasting again. This is a double relief for the people of Djelgoji, who also welcome the arrival of BIRS 28 and 05 units, reinforcing the sense of security in the city.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this recent return of the telephone signal was greeted with enthusiasm and relief by residents who can now communicate with their loved ones, access digital services, and resume certain economic activities.
The resumption of national radio broadcasts reinforces this momentum. After several years of silence, the voice of RTB radio is once again being heard in Djibo, providing residents with access to national and regional news, as well as educational, cultural, and civic programs.
These significant advances are part of a context of progressive security of the territory, marked in particular by the recent deployment of the Rapid Intervention and Security Battalions (BIRS) 28 and 05, whose presence reassures residents and facilitates the operationalization of essential structures.
"We've been through some very difficult times. Today, hearing RTB and being able to call our parents is like being reborn," says a visibly moved resident of Djibo.
These restorations mark an important turning point in the process of building resilience among the Sahelian population. They are positive signals reflecting the commitment of the authorities and the forces involved to fully restore this area.
