Doc Land International Contributes to Song-Taaba High School Reconstruction

Ouagadougou: The group "Doc Land International" has made a significant contribution to the reconstruction efforts of Song-Taaba High School in Gounghin by offering 2 tons of cement and 160,000 CFA francs. This initiative is part of the 'Song-Taaba Mebo' project, aimed at rehabilitating the school's boundary wall and administrative facilities, which was launched by the Association of Former Students of Song-Taaba High School.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Doc Land International, a group with a longstanding presence of over thirty years in the Pissy district, has stepped up to support the high school. Ba-banien Sirima, the spokesperson for the donor group, emphasized the personal connection many in the group have with the school, stating, "This gesture is for the benefit of our younger brothers. We attended this school or were close to its leaders, which is why we felt it was necessary to make our contribution."

Bance Moumine, president of the Alumni Association, expressed his appreciation for the donation and highlighted the ongoing need for support: "The call we made has been heard. We always invite alumni and all people of good will to join us. The overall budget is estimated at nearly 7 million CFA francs, and there is still much to be done."

The principal of Song-Taaba High School, Tapsoba Faissal, shared his gratitude and reflection on the importance of the initiative: "When we launched the initiative, I did not expect such support. Song-Taaba was a great establishment for a long time. Today, with its ruined walls, we must save our school and restore its former glory."

Despite the progress with rehabilitation work already underway, the initiators continue to appeal for further mobilization to achieve their objectives.
