Ouahigouya: The governor of the Yaadga region, Thomas Yampa, officially launched the 6th edition of the Sports Training Schools (EFORS) competitions on Monday in the city of Naaba Kango during a solemn flag-raising ceremony.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony took place at the regional sports directorate in July 2025. It was attended by administrative officials, defense and security forces, and local residents, who joined together to sing the Ditany¨ in French. This month's event was distinguished by the commencement of the 6th edition of the Inter-Schools competitions, organized by the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment (MSJE) through the Permanent Secretariat for Young Sportspeople.
The Secretary General of the MSJE, Colette Ou©draogo, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Minister of Sports to the regional bodies for their dedication and support for the event. She emphasized that the activity is integral to the sports development project and aims to promote youth sports in Burkina Faso.
Governor Thomas Yampa encouraged the local population to actively participate in the competitions and wished all participants a successful and fair contest. From July 7 to 12, young athletes will compete in various sports, including football, volleyball, handball, cycling, wrestling, and athletics.
