Establishment of School Councils in Djibasso’s Basic Education District Under Discussion

Djibasso: The Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Djibasso, Pascal Coulibaly, led a meeting with school principals to discuss the reopening of schools and the formation of school councils. This meeting took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Coulibaly provided an in-depth explanation of the decree concerning school councils. This decree is organized into five chapters and thirty-nine articles, outlining the structure and responsibilities of this important governance body for basic school education establishments.

The discussions also included plans for reopening 10 schools within the district, with 9 of these schools distributed across 3 reception sites. Mr. Coulibaly reassured attendees that comprehensive measures are being implemented to facilitate this process.

Additionally, the recruitment of new students for preschool and primary education is set to begin on September 27, 2025, continuing until the start of the school year. Mr. Coulibaly encouraged school principals to collaborate effectively to ensure a successful academic year.
