Fafo Triumphs in 5th Edition of Djindjerma Brotherhood Cup

Djindjerma: The final match of the 5th Djindjerma Brotherhood Cup saw Fafo emerge victorious, clinching the trophy in a tense penalty shootout against Djindjerma. The match, which concluded on Saturday, May 10, 2025, was held in the rural commune of Koti, ending with a 1-1 draw before Fafo secured a 5-4 victory in penalties.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament began with 13 teams hailing from 10 villages, ultimately culminating in a final between Djindjerma and Fafo. The match remained competitive throughout the 2-35-minute halves, necessitating a penalty shootout to determine the winner. Fafo's triumph was rewarded with a trophy, 100,000 FCFA, medals, a set of jerseys, and a ball. Djindjerma, as the runners-up, received 75,000 FCFA, medals, a set of jerseys, and a ball.

Tournament promoter ‚¬°ric C©saire Malo expressed his satisfaction with the event, highlighting the competition's objectives of promoting fraternity, social cohesion, and strengthening community ties among residents. He emphasized the ultimate aim of building a municipal team capable of competing at higher levels, including provincial, regional, and national tournaments.

Malo also acknowledged the significant contributions of local administrative, traditional, and religious authorities to the event's success. The sponsor's representative, Seydou Barry, commended the tournament's role in fostering unity and cohesion, expressing his dedication to supporting the initiative.

Lassinan Dierma, president of the Koti municipal special delegation, praised the promoter for consistently organizing the cup over the past five years, noting its role in allowing young talents to showcase their skills and reinforcing community bonds. The closing ceremony, attended by Dieudonn© Zeida, secretary general of Tuy province, featured the presentation of certificates of recognition to several distinguished individuals.
