Ziro: The Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) undertook a significant sanitation operation at the high commission and the Sapouy Prefecture as part of the second phase of the Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation Days (JEPPC). This initiative aims to foster civic-mindedness, discipline, and patriotism within communities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Saiba Zorome, the High Commissioner of Ziro Province, highlighted the impressive turnout, which included the national police and the VDP, who worked together to clean key public facilities. Mr. Zorome emphasized that this activity reflects the essence of the JEPPC days and noted that additional activities, such as public conferences and more sanitation operations, are planned.
Zorome remarked on the positive outcomes of the first edition, observing a notable impact on daily life, with people increasingly integrating cleanliness and discipline into their habits. He called for widespread participation, encouraging citizens to proactively maintain cleanliness in their environments, thus supporting government efforts in sanitation.
Emmanuel Ouattara, the Provincial Director of the Ziro National Police, aligned the initiative with the directives of the General Directorate of the National Police. He detailed activities aimed at fostering cohesion between the police and the public, as well as supporting vulnerable populations, urging citizens to adopt civic behaviors for health and national reputation.
Chief Commissioner Ouattara expressed hope that these efforts will become ingrained habits, eliminating the need for reminders about environmental cleanliness. He also called on the residents of Ziro to actively collaborate with the FDS to address security concerns.
