Final Football Match Marks Conclusion of OSCEP Activities in Diapaga

Tapoa: The Diapaga Basic Education District (CEB) closed the activities of the Sports and Culture Organization of its District (OSCEP) on Saturday with the final of the District Chief's Cup. The Diapaga A school center experienced a special atmosphere on the afternoon of June 28, 2025, as the final of the 2nd edition of the Diapaga District Chief's Cup for basic education took place.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this competition, which began on March 19, 2025, concluded on the grounds of the Centre A school. The final match saw the two best teams, School C and School G, face off after emerging from a pool of 12 competing teams. School D took an early lead with strong individual performances and scored the first goal in the 50th minute, exploiting a mistake by School G's goalkeeper. Paul Lompo from School D doubled the lead in the 55th minute, securing their victory as School G failed to convert two goal-scoring opportunities before the final whistle.

In recognition of their triumph, School D was awarded a set of jerseys, a trophy, two balls, and a cash prize of 15,000 FCFA. School G, the runner-up, received a set of jerseys, a ball, and 10,000 FCFA. Diassibo Fran§ois D'Assise Gnoula, the promoter, emphasized that the ultimate winners were the school youth of Diapaga. He called for community unity, especially amidst the ongoing security challenges in the province.

The final was graced by the presence of the Commander of the 27th Rapid Intervention Brigade of Diapaga (BIR), who expressed his delight in supporting the event. "Youth is the future and we cannot refuse to support it and, in turn, honor the entire CEB of Diapaga," he stated. The half-time break was an opportunity to distribute special prizes and highlight cultural activities.
