Ouagadougou: Burkinabe newspapers this Monday highlighted the 23rd edition of the Kund© d'Or, where musician Floby emerged victorious, alongside the appointment of a new executive secretary at REN-LAC.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the state-run daily Sidwaya reported that Floby secured his third Kund© d'Or with his recent release "Burkina Faso," set for 2024. The artist dedicated this accolade to the people of Burkina Faso and the nation's fighting forces. Le Pays, another daily newspaper, noted that Floby also received accolades for the most played album in discos and modern music with traditional inspiration.
In another development, the appointment of Pissawanba Ou©draogo as the new executive secretary of REN-LAC was covered extensively. He was unanimously elected during the 25th ordinary general assembly held recently in Ouagadougou. According to the state-run daily, Ou©draogo is set to replace Sagado Nacanabo and has committed to consolidating REN-LAC's achievements over his three-year tenure.
Meanwhile, L'Observateur Paalga, the oldest private daily, highlighted the awarding of the first prize for the fight against corruption, 2024 edition, to Herv© d'Afrik du courrier confidentiel. This was in recognition of his investigative work "500 million FCFA for communication in times of crisis and war: who is behind the company IM-PRINT?".
