Bobo-Dioulasso: The French Institute of Bobo-Dioulasso hosted a press conference on Friday February 9, 2024 in its premises, to announce the gradual resumption of cultural activities. It is in an atmosphere full of joy that the French institute of Bobo-Dioulasso reopened its doors to the public on Friday February 9, 2024. This reopening marks the beginning of a new cultural era for the town of Sya and its inhabitants. The press conference announcing this gradual resumption of activities brought together journalists, representatives of the artistic community, local officials and culture enthusiasts. It was led by the first head of the structure Victor Bernard, the new deputy director who took up his duties at the beginning of January. Based in Ouagadougou, he will travel very regularly to Bobo-Dioulasso in order to gradually relaunch the activities of the French institute there. The institute's team, around the deputy director, is made up of ten technical people, including four people in charge of the med ia library, three agents and three members of the administration. According to the deputy director, the institute's relaunch operations in 2024 will be carried out with a gradual reopening of the institute's spaces. These include, among other things, the strengthening of the activities of the media library open at usual hours and which will welcome readers thanks to new workshops and film screenings for young people, the reopening of the cinema room with programming of two films per week from February 22. Victor Bernard also announced the reopening of the partnership with the Sogossira Sanou municipal museum during the coming months of March and April, and the occasional reopening of the main stage thanks to artist residencies. 'We are going to strengthen the security system at the entrance in order to ensure the most peaceful experience for the public,' indicated the director of the institute.
