Hauts-Bassins Judicial Initiative Attracts Crowds at Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal

Bobo-dioulasso: The Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal commenced its inaugural Justice Open Days (JPO) event this Thursday, drawing a significant number of citizens and justice officials to the courthouse.

According to Burkina Information Agency, participants from various regions of Burkina Faso, including magistrates, clerks, lawyers, and judicial police officers (OPJ), attended the event, marking a strong turnout for the judicial institution's initiative. The event, organized under the theme "Justice and the construction of social peace," aims to bridge the gap between the judiciary and the public.

Scheduled for two days, from June 26 to 27, 2025, the event will feature booths within the courthouse where visitors can learn about the operations of different courts. Legal professionals, including lawyers, magistrates, and judicial police officers, will be present to provide information, engage in discussions, and raise awareness among the public.

The Minister of Justice, Edasso Rodrigue BAYALA, who led the opening ceremony, emphasized the relevance of the theme in today's context. He highlighted the importance of justice in establishing lasting peace, particularly in a climate affected by insecurity and terrorism. The minister encouraged citizens to leverage this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the justice system.
