Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, has disclosed that the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) is under pressure from imperialist forces attempting to create discord among its member states. During a national flag-raising ceremony on Monday, President Traor© highlighted ongoing efforts by external forces to persuade one of the three member countries to abandon the union, thereby undermining the strength of the Confederation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traor© expressed concerns that the Confederation of Sahel States continues to be a troubling factor for some external entities. He noted that daily approaches by these imperialists are part of a broader strategy to destabilize the AES by encouraging betrayal among the member states. Despite these challenges, President Traor© affirmed that the AES remains steadfast and is progressing steadily.
President Traor© emphasized that the motives of these imperialist forces are rooted solely in self-interest, driven by the abundant resources of Burkina Faso and the Sahel region. He urged a continued collective effort against these pressures, advocating for resilience and unity among the member states. "We must not feel sorry for ourselves. On the contrary, it must strengthen us," he concluded.
