Rome: The Italian diaspora gathered at the Generalate of the Missionaries of Africa, also known as the White Fathers, to commemorate 125 years of evangelization in Burkina Faso. The event was attended by Burkinabe diplomatic authorities in Italy, as well as Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim religious leaders, along with numerous faithful from various Italian localities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a message from His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, was read at the opening of the Mass. Cardinal Parolin emphasized the spiritual significance of the event, highlighting the maturity of the Burkinabe faith and the missionary commitment of the Church-Family in Burkina Faso.
During his homily, Bishop Janvier Yameogo urged the faithful to view this jubilee as an opportunity to witness the Gospel through their lives and to promote communication that fosters peace.
Burkina FasoA's ambassador to the Holy See, R©gis K©vin Bakyono, commended the gathering of the faithful and the collaboration between the diplomatic representation and FEBUR. He also encouraged the Burkinabe diaspora to continue supporting their homeland, especially through contributions to the Patriotic Support Fund.
The mass concluded with a sense of fraternity, characterized by interactions among the various Burkinabe religious communities residing in Italy.
