Gourma: On the occasion of the 7th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA) coupled with the Patriotic Hour to green Faso, King Untaanba of Gulmu planted 108 trees in Fada N'Gourma. The initiative, observed on Saturday, June 21, 2025, was dedicated to promoting peace across the nation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the reforestation effort is part of broader national policies aimed at addressing environmental concerns and fostering unity in Burkina Faso. The National Youth Forum and the Patriotic Hour for Faso are key initiatives in this endeavor. In this context, King Untaanba's planting of 108 trees, representing 12 different species, underscores a commitment to peace and stability in a country grappling with security challenges.
King Untaanba emphasized the impact of the security crisis in Burkina Faso, noting that the trees planted were a symbol of hope and unity for those affected by terrorism and organized crime. He expressed hope that these efforts would help alleviate insecurity and provide solace to communities under duress.
