N'Dorola: The Kal¨gu¨ Association organized, from April 24 to 26, 2025 in N'Dorola, the third edition of the Nanergu¨ festival, to promote Senufo culture and unite the daughters and sons of K©n©dougou around social cohesion with other communities. N'Dorola, a town located in the north of the K©n©dougou province, more than 100 km from Orodara, experienced a festive atmosphere from April 24 to 26, 2025, on the occasion of the 3rd edition of the Nanergu¨ festival.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was themed "Cultural Resilience and Nanergu¨ Identity in the Face of the Security Crisis in Burkina Faso." The festival featured several activities, including a gala match, a blood donation drive, a public lecture, balafon performances, and awards and certificate ceremonies.
The festival's general manager, Adama Sessouma, indicated that it is a cultural event that today aims to be a framework for promoting, enhancing, and preserving their customs and traditions, which are useful for education and the solid construction of Senufo society. He recalled that the main objective sought through the organization of this festival is to promote Senufo culture and unite the daughters and sons of K©n©dougou around social cohesion with other communities.
For the patron of the ceremony, also President of the special delegation (PDS) of N'Dorola, Fatoumata Ou©draogo, the theme of this edition is an invitation to cultural patriotism both for the country and in the African cultural space. "Protecting and promoting our cultural identity means taking back control of our existence and placing ourselves within the framework of world history," she said.
Ms. Ou©draogo congratulated and encouraged the organizing committee for the work they do each year to organize this festival. The Nanergu¨ festival was attended by Konimba Traor© and foreign delegations from Mali and C´te d'Ivoire.
