K©n©dougou Plants 175 Trees in Orodara as Part of National Tree Day Initiative

K©n©dougou: The province of K©n©dougou marked the 7th edition of the National Tree Day in Orodara by planting 175 trees as part of the "Patriotic Hour to Green Faso" initiative. The event took place on the green strip in sector 5, behind the SONABEL Agency, and aimed to contribute to the nationwide effort to increase tree coverage.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was led by the High Commissioner of the K©n©dougou province, Sadou Sakira, and attended by local authorities and members of the constituted bodies. This year's event focused on planting medicinal species, aligning with the government's target of planting 5 million trees in one hour across the country.

Idrissa Sanou, the provincial director of Water and Forests, praised the participants for their involvement and highlighted the significance of this provincial action in meeting national reforestation goals. Emmanuel Konat©, president of the special delegation of Orodara commune, pledged to protect the newly planted trees, underscoring the importance of tree survival beyond planting.

High Commissioner Sadou Sakira reiterated the need for ongoing care and maintenance of the young plants to maximize the impact of the initiative. He also extended his appreciation to contributors, notably SOS Enfants and its partner, the Stromme Foundation, for their support in making the event successful.
