Kombissiri: The Teeb Manegda Association (ATM/Burkina Faso) donated a medical ambulance to the Kombissiri Urban Medical Center on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The objective is to help handle emergencies, including assessments.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation was facilitated by a partnership between ATM/Burkina Faso and the NGO "Rose des sables" based in Geneva, Switzerland. This act is part of a broader initiative that began in 2020, involving the renovation and equipping of the Kombissiri Urban Medical Center with medical-technical equipment and solar energy installations, including a solar water tower. This initiative represents an investment exceeding 100 million.
Dr. Harouna Nana, head of the Kombissiri CMU, expressed that the medical center has faced ongoing challenges in managing emergencies, particularly due to the lack of ambulances, which has hindered the speed and effectiveness of medical interventions. The recent donation aims to address this gap in the center's healthcare system. Dr. Nana conveyed gratitude to ATM/Burkina Faso and Rose des Sables, promising to ensure the ambulance is used judiciously and transparently.
The ambulance handover ceremony was attended by Clarisse Denni Wossol¨me, Secretary General of the province of Baz¨ga, and Boukary Porgo, President of the special delegation of the commune of Kombissiri. Both expressed appreciation for the donation that promises to improve patient evacuation efficiency. Ms. Denni also called upon others to emulate ATM/Burkina Faso's efforts to support local health facilities.
Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for Dr. Nana to appeal to the town hall and partners for further support, highlighting the need for a medical analysis laboratory, a parking lot, and enhanced security measures at the medical center.
