Nouna: The provincial coordination of citizen monitoring organized a significant development project to enhance the access road to the municipal cemetery of Nouna, with activities taking place on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw the mobilization of local citizens who came together to improve the road infrastructure leading to the cemetery. Owners of dumpsters and tricycles played a crucial role by transporting aggregates, while volunteers assisted in loading the vehicles and leveling the road, making the cemetery more accessible.
To support the initiative, the coordination team organized a collection to provide fuel and food for the participants. Community meetings were held to discuss the importance of this service, emphasizing the collective benefit. Coordinator Adama Dao highlighted the necessity of the project, stating that access during the winter months poses a challenge for residents.
Mr. Dao also mentioned the continuous involvement of the citizen monitoring associations in such initiatives. He pointed out the cemetery's importance as the final resting place for all, noting the positive response from the youth of Kossi province.
The project covers a distance of approximately 1 km, with half of the road already leveled. Contributions from the community are still needed to complete the task. The High Commissioner of Kossi Province, Noufo Dembel©, along with presidents of special delegations, visited the site to lend their support and encouragement.
The provincial director of Infrastructure was present and confirmed the effective progress of the work. The initiative reflects the community's dedication to improving local infrastructure and facilitating access to essential sites.
