Kossi: The great mosque of the Muslim community gathered the faithful for the Eid al-Adha celebration this Friday, June 6, 2025, under the leadership of Imam Gaoussou Dao, in the presence of paramilitary military administrative authorities and representatives of other religious communities. Muslims were urged to show greater solidarity with vulnerable people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after a welcome rain during this hot period, Muslims gathered at the great mosque for prayers marking the feast of Tabaski. Imam Gaoussou Dao, who led the prayer, called on Muslims to show greater solidarity with vulnerable people and neighbors, and to foster bonds of brotherhood. He stressed that the spirit of sharing is a reflection of a just society.
Imam Dao asked people to have positive thoughts towards the country's authorities, hoping that Allah's helping hand be extended to them. He praised the sacrifice of the fighting forces, imploring Allah for the repose of the departed souls, before performing the ritual of sacrificing the sheep.
After the blessings, the Grand Imam El Hadji Adama Konat© and his entourage shook hands with the officials present at the ceremony.
