Kossi Province Discusses National Security and Social Media Concerns

Nouna: The Secretary General of the Kossi province, Firmin Bassol©, chaired a meeting with the provincial coordination of citizen monitoring associations of Kossi, focusing on the nation's current situation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was held as part of a series of discussions with the National Coordination of Citizen Monitoring Associations (CNAVC), similar to initiatives in other provinces. Issa Dama, the CNAVC's Secretary General, provided an overview of the security situation before the interventions of the MPSR 2 and the MPP.

Dama highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing military capabilities and noted the ongoing military operations aimed at reclaiming territories. He emphasized the significant progress in Kossi province, particularly in terms of village resettlement.

Dama urged the residents to support military efforts by cooperating with authorities and warned against interference in military operations. He also cautioned about the dangers of manipulation and misinformation on social media, orchestrated by stateless individuals and adversaries of the nation.

The recruitment of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDPs) in Kossi was highlighted as a positive step toward village resettlement, though Dama stressed the importance of continued vigilance. He noted that the nation's enemies have adapted their strategies to include manipulation and fear tactics.

Firmin Bassol© reinforced the notion that all citizens are integral to the national mission and should contribute actively. He pointed out that social media is being exploited by adversaries for propaganda purposes, urging the community to remain discerning and cautious.
