Koudougou: The general management of the Koudougou Friendship Hospital deployed a mobile clinic on Wednesday at the Koukouldi Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS), in the Tenado health district, AIB noted. The aim of this initiative is to make quality specialist care more accessible to women living far from traditional medical infrastructure.
According to Burkina Information Agency, from the moment it opened, the mobile clinic team mobilized with determination. A total of 46 mammograms were performed, enabling early detection of potential breast lesions. At the same time, many women benefited from personalized gynecological consultations, delivered professionally in a setting that was both reassuring and confidential.
The impact of this mission extends far beyond medical procedures alone. A major awareness campaign has trained more than 450 women in breast self-examination. Health workers, using clear instruction, demonstrated the steps of this simple yet essential procedure for early diagnosis of breast cancer, making it accessible to all.
It is important to emphasize that all these services were offered free of charge, guaranteeing access without financial barriers to these vital services.
With this initiative, the Director General and her team reaffirm their firm commitment to building a fair and inclusive healthcare offering that is geared toward the most vulnerable populations, in full alignment with the guidelines of the national health policy. This is a significant step toward improving women's health in the region.
