Kourittenga: Around Twenty People Equipped with Soilless Farming Techniques

Kourittenga: The Association for the Promotion of Local Food, during its 3rd cooking holiday camp, equipped more than twenty individuals with soilless farming techniques and the manufacture of organic pesticides on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the training was organized for a diverse group, including widows, orphans, and teachers, aiming to provide them with skills in soilless farming and organic pesticide production. This initiative was a part of the Association's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

One of the participants, Kanila Kon©, expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity. "We will now be able to use our small spaces for useful purposes. This will help us produce and consume organic food and improve our well-being," she stated.

Gouwendsango Roland Tenkodogo, the head of the FEEDGOOD project at the NGO ARFA and a trainer at the event, highlighted the goal of introducing participants to agroecology. He explained that the initiative aims to enlighten participants on cultivating without chemicals and demonstrate the advantages of soilless agriculture.

Mr. Tenkodogo encouraged participants to adopt these practices in their environments to promote agroecology. She noted the significance of teaching soilless agriculture to produce nutritious food efficiently.

Ms. K©r© further remarked that these combined efforts are expected to bring about positive changes in the production and consumption of nutritious products at the community level.
