Kourittenga Reforestation Initiative: 500 Plants Planted by ASVK in Goghin

Kourittenga: The Association S¨ve de Vie de Koup©la (ASVK), in collaboration with local communities, planted 500 plants at its Goghin site, located a few kilometers from Koup©la. The event, attended by the High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo, and partner NGOs, marked a significant step in the region's reforestation efforts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ASVK association has dedicated over 14 hectares for reforestation activities, with a specific one-hectare area developed and fenced for this purpose. The president of ASVK, Ablass© B©r©, highlighted the support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in demarcating the site.

The activity was patronized by the wife of Her Majesty Naaba Yemd© of Koup©la, who commended the dedication of local women and the community in maintaining previously planted trees. She encouraged continued vigilance and support for the initiative to ensure its success.

Ablass© B©r© emphasized that the initiative contributes to restoring the region's vegetation cover. He noted that the activity aligns with the President of Faso's call for regreening the territory and preserving endangered plant species for future generations. B©r© called on the community to support the growth of the newly planted trees.

High Commissioner Moctar Ilboudo expressed his approval of the association's efforts to promote greenery. He acknowledged the reforestation as part of a broader campaign initiated by the Head of State. Ilboudo reminded attendees of the importance of preserving the plant cover as a heritage from ancestors, emphasizing the role of collective action in restoring the environment.
