Kourittenga/Solidarity: 14 Host Families Receive Support Worth 1,380,000 FCFA

Kourittenga: The Evangelical Church Development Office (ODE) in Koup©la extended support to 14 host families caring for children with precarious mobility by providing them with food and non-food items valued at 1,380,000 FCFA. This initiative took place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, as part of ODE's efforts to bolster the resilience of foster families in the Kourittenga province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation aimed to reinforce the support system for foster families hosting children with mobility challenges. Each family received a package consisting of a 50kg bag of rice, a 5-litre can of oil, a mat, a kettle, a blanket, and a monetary sum of 15,000 FCFA.

The comprehensive support package reflects the collective value of both food and non-food items provided, estimated at 1,380,000 FCFA. Emma Silga, a beneficiary from Pouytenga, expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting the reassurance it brings in fulfilling their responsibilities towards the children.

Prosper K. Soma, Project Manager for the Prevention and Fight against the Worst Forms of Child Labor (PPITE), highlighted that the support aligns with the Project's objectives to aid families in meeting the essential needs of children facing difficult circumstances. The gesture aims to assist in housing and feeding the children.

Sylvie Oboulbiga, the provincial director of humanitarian action in Kourittenga, commended the ODE for its initiative and recognized the host families' commitment to improving the lives of these children. Oboulbiga emphasized the importance of continued public solidarity to ensure a promising future for children in precarious mobility situations.
