Kourittenga/Tabaski 2025: Imam Korgho Urges Muslims to Cultivate Tolerance and Strengthen Social Cohesion

Kourittenga: During the Tabaski prayer on Friday, June 6, 2025, Muslim worshippers in Koup©la prayed for the swift return of security and peace to the land of upright people. The prayer was led by El Hadj Mohamadi Korgho, Imam of the Great Mosque of Koup©la.

According to Burkina Information Agency, to commemorate the Tabaski festival, leaders of other religious denominations, customary people, and constituted bodies of the province joined the Muslim community in praying for the return of security to Burkina Faso. "We ask everyone, at the end of this prayer, to undertake actions that can contribute to bringing peace to our very dear country, Burkina Faso," said the Vicar of the cathedral parish of Koup©la, Father Bienvenue Zinaba.

The president of the Muslim community of Kourittenga, El Hadj Ouss©ni Kouanda, highlighted that the commemoration is an opportunity for everyone to question themselves and carry out good deeds in order to get closer to the creator. "We must be good examples for ourselves and for those around us and promote the return of peace to our country," he stressed.

His Majesty Naaba Yemd©, the Kourt-Yir-Soaba of Koup©la, offered blessings for a good agricultural season and especially his wishes for a rapid return of security to Burkina. "We express our wishes for the return of peace, security and perfect harmony between the communities living in our province and remind them that they are vectors of peace through the messages they convey in their living environment and everywhere else," said the High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo. He also invited everyone to work hand in hand to establish peace in Faso.
