Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Extends Invitation to Burkinabe Counterpart for Diplomatic Visit

Bishkek: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has officially invited his Burkinabe counterpart, Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, for a friendship and working visit to Kyrgyzstan. This invitation was extended during the 51st Council of Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), where the two diplomats met.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Burkinabe Foreign Minister accepted the invitation, emphasizing the similarities between Burkina Faso and Kyrgyzstan in several areas. This mutual understanding underscores the need for their peoples to develop stronger connections.

The discussions between the two foreign ministers highlighted the potential for enhanced bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic, cultural, and tourism sectors. The visit is expected to pave the way for cooperation through potential agreements on diplomatic relations and visa exemptions.

Kyrgyzstan, located in Central Asia, shares borders with Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Its economy is growing due to advancements in agriculture and ecotourism, as noted by its foreign minister. The strengthening of ties with Burkina Faso aligns with Burkina Faso's strategy of diversifying its international partnerships, emphasizing mutual respect and sovereignty.
