Saudi Arabia celebrated the 94th anniversary of its national day yesterday, September 23, 2024 in Ouagadougou, under the banner of excellent diplomatic relations with Burkina Faso.The commemoration of the Saudi Arabian National Day was chaired by Ambassador Fahad Bin Abdulrahman H. Aldosari in the presence of the Burkinabe Minister Delegate in Charge of Regional Cooperation, Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré, who welcomed the highest Burkinabe authorities for their availability."After 59 years of excellent relations between Burkina Faso and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, many agreements have been signed during official visits of senior officials to the two countries," said Ambassador Aldosari.He specifies to this effect that his country has supported several projects in Burkina Faso in various sectors, including health, infrastructure and food security, for an amount exceeding 242 million USD, since the reestablishment of relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the country of upright men.Highlighti ng the dynamism of diplomatic relations between our two countries, the ambassador notes that between 2023 and 2024, twelve projects have been carried out in strategic areas for the happiness of the Burkinabe people.He also paid a vibrant tribute to the Defense and Security Forces, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland and the people of Burkina Faso for their remarkable efforts in the fight against terrorism for the liberation of the homeland.In her speech, the Minister Delegate recalled the exemplary cooperation between the two countries since 1965, the date of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Burkina Faso and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.For her, the visits of high-ranking figures such as the President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, Ousmane Bougouma in Saudi Arabia in November 2023 and the special envoy of the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Burkina Faso in September 2023 constitute a strong link in the excellence of the relations of friendship and cooperati on between our States."Numerous development projects, particularly in the hydro-agricultural sector, health and education infrastructure as well as humanitarian actions are implemented for the benefit of the Burkinabe people by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," said Mrs. Kabré/Kaboré.This celebration was also an opportunity for Mrs. Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré to invite, on behalf of the President of Faso, partners to a sincere partnership, a principle that guides Burkina Faso in its bilateral relations, and called on the friendly States of our country to strengthen their support for the Sahel countries that are facing the terrorist hydra.Source: Burkina Information Agency
