Léraba/Peace effort: The population of Douna offers 8 tonnes of cereals

The population of Douna (Léraba Province) contributed to the peace effort by offering eight tons of cereals and an envelope of 500 thousand FCFA. The donation was given on Monday, February 19, 2024, to the Minister of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Ismaël Sombié.All socio-professional layers of Douna are grateful for the government's efforts in reconquering the national territory and achieving food sovereignty.They expressed this recognition through a donation of eight tons of cereals and an envelope of 500 thousand CFA francs, on Monday February 19, 2024.This gesture, consisting mainly of corn and rice, was received by the Minister of Agriculture, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Ismaël Sombié, during his tour in the province of Léraba.According to donors, this food delivery was initiated to help the government support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).For the representative of the population, Kanibari Traoré, it is to respond to t he call of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, that the inhabitants of the different villages of the commune made this gesture.'We donated this food to encourage the government's efforts as part of the 2023-2025 agropastoral offensive in the locality,' underlined Mr. Traoré.As for Minister Ismaël Sombié, he thanked the population of Douna for this spirit of solidarity.'What you have done is magnificent.
