Local consumption month: stakeholders reflect on the challenges of consuming local products in Dori

The Sahel Regional Trade Directorate commemorated the 1st 4, 2024 in Dori, the fifth edition of the month of "consuming locally", through the visit of small and medium-sized enterprises, a communication on the challenges of the consumption of local products and sports activities.This fifth edition is placed under the theme, "consume locally, a lever for industrial development, competitiveness and resilience of the economies of UEMOA".On October 25, 2019, the conference of ministers in charge of trade of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) dedicated the month of October as that of the consumption of local products, declared the high commissioner of the province of Séno, Mr. Wulfran Emile Bamas.The aim of this commemoration, according to Mr. Bamas, is to reflect on how to make the concept of "consume locally" a factor in the emergence of local economies. He paid a warm tribute to the men and women working in the field of production and processing, for the enormous efforts made to provide healthy products.The High Commissioner urged the participants to also consume the products of the local cultural industry and show patriotism by making these days their own.He also expressed his gratitude to the regional council, the regional consular delegation of the Sahel and the chamber of trades.The fifth edition of the month of "consuming local" was marked in the Sahel region by a visit to small and medium-sized enterprises in the city of Dori, a workshop on the challenges of consuming local products and sports activities, the regional director of trade in the Sahel, Mr. Calfassoro Konaté, told us.Source: Burkina Information Agency
