Loroum: Producers Receive Agricultural Inputs and Equipment.
Loroum: The High Commissioner of the province of Loroum, Djibril Bassolé, handed over, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in Titao, agricultural inputs and equipment kindly offered by the Minister in charge of Agriculture. This initiative aims to revitalize agricultural activities in the region, providing much-needed support to local farmers. According to Burkina Information Agency, the batch of equipment included 30 tons of potato seeds, 24 tons of NPK fertilizer, 1,000 PVC pipes, 100 treatment devices, 100 watering cans, and 10 motor pumps. This substantial donation was made by the Minister in charge of Agriculture, Ismaël Sombié, to the regional authorities for distribution to Loroum province producers. Local representatives expressed their gratitude for the support. Daouda Kirakoya, head of the Titao market gardeners, likened the donation to a vital resource, highlighting its significance to the community. Lizata Kagoné, one of the beneficiaries, emphasized the need to encourage women to actively participat e in utilizing these resources, using a local proverb to stress the importance of making the most of the opportunity. High Commissioner Djibril Bassolé urged producers to make effective use of the provided materials. He emphasized the province's reputation as a prime potato production area and the necessity for farmers to maximize output. Bassolé assured that the State has fulfilled its responsibility, and now it is up to the producers to ensure the proper use of the seeds and equipment. The delivery of these inputs and equipment underscores the government's commitment to supporting agricultural development in Loroum.
