Bobo-dioulasso: Thanks to military cooperation between the Burkinabe National Armed Forces and those of the Kingdom of Morocco, 200 paratrooper trainees benefited from six weeks of training at the airborne troops training center in Bobo-Dioulasso, the economic capital. They received their military parachute certificates at Camp Ouezzin Coulibaly during a graduation ceremony presided over by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Colonel Hamed Hermann Rouamba.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the intensive training provided both theoretical and practical expertise in parachute jumping techniques. A Moroccan delegation, comprising approximately forty officers, collaborated with Burkinabe instructors to ensure the success of this first-of-its-kind training initiative. Colonel Hamed Hermann Rouamba highlighted the invaluable support provided by the Moroccan delegation, which included aircraft and a significant number of specialists.
Commander of the Bobo-Dioulasso Airborne Troops Training Center, Battalion Commander Sami David Palm, emphasized the training's objectives, which included imparting the necessary skills for executing jumps and enhancing operational readiness. He noted the importance of physical resilience, a willingness to take action and risks, self-sacrifice, and self-improvement as essential skills for national defense.
Trainee delegate Darius Poda expressed that the badge received symbolizes their commitment, discipline, and courage. The training cohort consisted of 10 officers, 56 non-commissioned officers, and 134 other ranks, including two women, from various units of the National Armed Forces, including the Parachute Commando Group Battalion, the National Commando Training Center, air bases, the National Gendarmerie, the Special Rapid Intervention Brigade, and the Central Army Group.
