It also gives us the opportunity to imagine the type of packaging we want for our products," added Minister Baro. The Agri-Food Packaging Show in Africa is an event that brings together local and international players around agri-food packaging. The event aims to build a sustainable and innovative future for the packaging industry in Africa through four priorities.Priority 1: Strengthening local capacities through collaboration with universities, technical schools and vocational training centers to develop academic programs specific to agri-food packaging.Priority: 2 Innovation and technology dedicated to investment in research and development to promote more environmentally friendly, efficient packaging materials adapted to our local markets.Priority 3: Sustainable development, indeed, packaging must be seen as a solution, but not as a problem. We must adopt circular economy practices, reduce single-use plastics and increase the recyclability of materials.Priority 4: Strategic partnerships, this will involve working together with governments, the private sector, academic institutions and NGOs to create an ecosystem favorable to innovation and entrepreneurship in packaging.Source: Burkina Information Agency
