Mission Officer Visits Morolaba to Offer Comfort After Terrorist Attacks

K©n©dougou: A mission officer with the presidency of Faso comforts the populations of Morolaba by visiting the rural commune on behalf of Hauts-Bassins. Omar Traor©, accompanied by a large delegation, arrived in Morolaba to express solidarity following the terrorist attacks of December 25 and 28, 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Omar Traor© conveyed a message of comfort from the highest authorities to the affected population. His visit aimed to personally assess the damage inflicted by the attacks and offer reassurance to the residents. Traor© recognized the resilience of Morolaba's inhabitants and urged them to foster social cohesion while encouraging the reporting of illicit activities and their accomplices.

The local residents expressed that the visit instilled hope and provided solace. They acknowledged the bravery of the FDS and the VDP in enabling their return home. However, they stressed the need for an expanded security operation to facilitate the resettlement of neighboring villages.

Germain Hien, President of the special delegation of Morolaba, highlighted the significant return of 90% of the displaced population following Captain Watao and his team's intervention. Hien advocated for the establishment of a military detachment in Morolaba, given its strategic border location.

Concluding his visit, Omar Traor© offered more than a ton of rice to the residents as a gesture of support.
