Moroccan King Receives Message of Friendship from Burkina Faso President

Rabat: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traor©, conveyed "the message of friendship and fraternity" from President Ibrahim Traor© of Burkina Faso to His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This took place during an audience at the Royal Palace in Rabat.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Traor© expressed that President Ibrahim Traor©, who completed part of his training in Morocco, holds fond memories of the country. The President requested the Minister to deliver his message of friendship and brotherhood to King Mohammed VI.

During the audience, King Mohammed VI also met with other significant figures, including Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, and Nigerien Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangar©. The discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation between Morocco and the Confederation of Sahel States, which includes Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.

Minister Traor© remarked on his admiration for King Mohammed VI's commitment to Africa, his knowledge of the region, and his willingness to forge new relationships with African countries. The ministers sought the King's advice, expressing satisfaction with the productive discussions.

The meeting underscored the importance of South-South cooperation, with Minister Traor© noting the significance of Morocco's support for landlocked countries like Burkina Faso. The Royal Initiative offered by Morocco came at a crucial time for these nations, providing them with much-needed assistance amidst political and economic challenges.
