Mouhoun/Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation: Second Phase of 2025 Inaugurated at Souri High School

Mouhoun: The Governor of the Bankui region, Babo Pierre Bassinga, officially launched the second phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation (JNEPPC) at the Lycee de Souri in Dedougou. The event took place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, where he conveyed a message from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, to those in attendance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony in Dedougou was marked by a solemn raising of the national colors, attended by a wide array of dignitaries including administrative, customary, and religious authorities, as well as defense and security forces, education stakeholders, students, and conscripts of patriotic immersion. The gathering showcased national pride with the victory anthem sung in the Dioula language.

Simon Sawadogo, the principal of Souri High School, introduced the establishment which features ten classrooms, including one dedicated to technical and vocational training. He emphasized the school's dedication to fostering a resilient and prosperous nation, stating that schools are fundamental to national transformation, nurturing the builders of a strong and just Burkina Faso.

Governor Babo Pierre Bassinga commended the rise of popular patriotism, considering it essential to nation building. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by various societal sectors and lauded initiatives like the Patriotic Support Fund, Faso Mebo, and popular shareholding. Special recognition was given to the first class of conscripts of the patriotic immersion, urging them to embody dignity, solidarity, and integrity within their communities.

The governor emphasized the importance of disciplined behavior without reliance on external enforcement. He warned that misusing common resources is a betrayal of the Revolution, depriving citizens of crucial services. He urged supervisory bodies, the justice system, and regulatory mechanisms to enforce reporting and sanction measures effectively.

In his address, Babo Pierre Bassinga also praised the courage of the fighting forces, whose dedication is pivotal to the resumption of activities in several regions.
